What do numeric codes on food items denote?

Food items such as milk products, fruits, etc. have few numbers embossed on them. If there are four numbers embossed on the food item, it means that the product was grown conventionally or traditionally with the use of pesticides and insecticides. The last four letters within this numeric code denote the kind of vegetable or fruit the product is. If there are five numbers within the numeric code and the first number is 8, then it simply denotes that the respective food item is a genetically modified fruit or vegetable. For example, a genetically engineered/genetically modified (GE or GM) banana would have a numeric code as 84011. Last, but definitely not the least, if there are 5 numbers embossed on the food item and the first number is 9, then it simply means that the respective product was grown organically and has not been genetically modified. For instance, an organic banana would have a numeric code as 94011.
